Who I Am:

Interests: organic gardening/peace and justice/sustainability/property rights/music/fairs and festivals/art/oceans & snorkeling/sunrises and sunsets/and?
I live in the country on 35 acres. I love to garden and work in the yard. My garden is totally organic, and self sustaining as I use only fertilizer that comes from my own animals and compost, and I have chickens for pest control. I lead a community discussion group - issues based - non-partisan. I would love to see our rural community be able to take advantage of our prime location for wind or solar farms, and I enjoy going to seminars, etc. to learn about the development of solar and wind projects of all sizes, including simple homemade projects. I am active in politics, I am at the state capitol on a regular basis, I speak at bill hearings, I write letters, I call, I attend events. I care about people of all races, religions, sexual preferences, etc. in our country and around the world, and I do my best to have input toward their just treatment. I pray for our friends in Iraq, and Iran, and I would welcome any penpals from abroad. I believe if more of America were in touch with the human beings that live in those countries, and aware of their lives, careers and families that we would never allow our government to continue on it's current path. I am NOT one who believes that all problems will be solved simply by throwing out the Republicans and electing a Democrat. Both major parties are largely sold out to corporate sponsors, and both major parties are more concerned with strategy and gaining or keeping seats and power and control than they are with what is truly best for our country and for the world. It will take a major turn around in the awareness and participation of the citizens in this country for any of that to change. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who is working toward that change!
When I am not engaged in the above, I am a self employed bookkeeper - (always looking for new clients!) and a single mom of a teenaged boy. (activist in training!)

Friends - male or female - who would like to attend events as described above, or who lead or participate in groups that work on similar issues. I'd be happy for an email pen pal, or someone to attend events with, or to meet for coffee sometime. I am very busy, and so probably don't have time for a real "relationship" unless I could find someone who happens to have the same interests...and will tolerate my schedule...and will realize that I still like to have some time to myself. That said, I love to meet new people, and hear what they are doing to make the world a better place!
