Who I Am:

Confident, independent, opinionated, intelligent, passionate,vocal, loving, affectionate, caring, considerate, romantic, involved, fun, witty, loving, honest, liberal, trim/athletic, very healthy, outdoorsy, alone by choice, semi-retired, science background, all describe me. I don't suffer fools. I stay fit but I don't work out. I walk, hike, ride a bike and work hard. I don't do drugs, smoke, or drink. All three are a waste of existence. At 57 I still hold hands with a woman in public. I have a very irreverent, goofy sense of humor. (I know, I don't sound like it! Maybe I just don't write funny!) 'What you see is what you get' applies to me, and it is arrogant not to expect the same of you. Change in committed individuals occurs only with time. No pounding square pegs into round holes here.
Sustainable living has become a central theme in my thinking. I live off-the-grid, with wind and PV, plus a solar water heater, a dry composting toilet, roof top water collection system, woodstove for heat in the winter, and have been making and using bioDiesel. I am a wildlife biologist and use prescribed burning techniques to manage my 32-acre property and other local ranches. I have free-range chickens for food, and insect pest/vegetation management. I am interested in sustainable organic gardening and agriculture. I try to think 'green' in all my actions, but no one can do everything, so there always is more to do. Thoreau, Twain, and Noam Chomsky are my favorite authors. I would love to meet a woman who could be a lifelong partner.

You, my ideal woman, are smart as a whip but neither hide it nor parade it. Same with your beauty. You look great (the best!) right out of the shower, don't need to do anything else to yourself and you know it, and everybody else sees it. You know that if I see you right out of the shower, we'll both be taking another shower in 2-3 hours. You are educated, liberal, cultured, but unpretentious. You aren't religious, but are intelligent, independent, and fun-loving. You can kick the ass of anybody twice your size, but you don't accept violence and abuse. You are fit because you stay active. Lycra makes me nervous! I would never expect you or ask you to change anything to please me. This is an-off-the-rack world (hence the title) and it is arrogant of me to expect you to cut yourself to fit my fashion. Together we are optimistic, idealistic, romantic, and we have the room to grow and expand together. You are comfortable in your own skin and you allow me to be comfortable in mine. These are of course my ideals, but if you feel confident in even a few of them, let's see what happens.
