Who I Am:
|
|
Years ago, I found myself in what seemed to be a hopeless situation and stumbled onto a spiritual path(we all know that there are no accidents). I learned that we are all children of God who have agreed to come to Earth to balance our thought and feeling energies in our heart, repay our karmic debts and perform some sort of service for God. Service, as it was explained to me, is the loving/positive use of our energy. I do my best to acknowledge the God Light where ever my attention rests. Admittedly, it can be a challenge, but I'm becoming more tolerant and compassionate because of it. I believe in the Law of Cause and Effect, or what goes around comes around, which is also known as the Law of the Circle. I understand that whatever we cause a person, an animal or earth to experience, we must also experience- both positive and negative. I am honest and hard-working and totally committed to my spiritual growth (I'm not a "born-again", but do believe in reincarnation). Last year, I built an environmentally-friendly straw bale home in the middle of the woods, which is also off the grid. This experience turned out to be the greatest learning lesson in my life. Although I have had many, many challenges in this lifetime, this one took the prize. I'm a vegetarian (and so are my dogs) - I do not believe in killing. I foster for Boxer Rescue of New England and as a result now have five dogs. I'm planning on building a straw bale barn to house the two abused horses I own. Future plans for my property include an organic orchard and gardens, both vegetable and healing herbs. I don't need someone to entertain me, or to make me happy because that is an inside job. I love working outside, being in nature and gardening. I enjoy snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, as well as roller-blading; and just being. I'm learning to be "handy" - did quite a bit of work building my house - acted as the general contractor, tiled the floors until 2am, sheet-rocked, primed and painted, and did all the wallpapering. My driveway is 1800' long with a 20% grade - it's very, very steep - and no one wanted to plow it, so I bought a pickup truck and started my own plowing business (have 16 clients). I have been independent for awhile, mostly because I will not compromise my values. My last relationship ended because the fellow was intimidated by my strength, perseverance, dogged-determination and faith in God. I do my best to walk my talk. I love to laugh and have a great sense of humor, but not as someone's expense. I'm a bit of a homebody and find serenity in nature. I'm a good cook and love to entertain friends in my home.
